The Whitehorse Musicians Guild proudly announces the return of Rock the Mountain, an energetic, fan-driven music festival set against the majestic backdrop of Whitehorse Mountain. Taking place at Darrington Music Park, this three-day event will be headlined by legendary rock band Head East.
Known for their powerful harmonies and iconic sound, Head East has spent decades delivering performances to audiences across North America. Their signature hit, “Never Been Any Reason”, often dubbed “The Rock & Roll National Anthem” continues to resonate with fans of all ages. The band is touring in support of their 2023 release Full Circle while celebrating the 50th anniversary of their release of the hit album that started it all, Flat as a Pancake. Their music has also been featured in films like Dazed and Confused and TV shows including That ’70s Show.
So, head east toward the mountains about 35 miles from the I-5 at Arlington to the best venue this side of the Cascades to enjoy more than 20 bands performing across multiple stages, along with dance performances, workshops, and food and craft vendors. Additional attractions include a Rock Bar, acoustic open mic / karaoke stage, children’s music area, contests, raffles, and prizes, and of course a VIP upgrade for those who want to rock in style. There’s something for everyone.
Set at the foot of the majestic Whitehorse Mountain, the amphitheater is surrounded by over 30 acres of shaded camping and easy access to a nearby river, making it an ideal destination for a summer weekend getaway.
“Rock the Mountain is about preserving the spirit of live music and the magic that happens when people come together in one place,” said organizers. “It’s grassroots, it’s meaningful and definitely a lot of fun.”

What is Rock the Mountain?
Rock the Mountain is a gathering of music lovers who come together to celebrate great music, good vibes, and unforgettable experiences at the foot of beautiful Whitehorse Mountain. Inspired by the legendary shows that came before it, our festival takes place at Darrington Music Park, a breathtaking amphitheater at the gateway to the Cascade Range. Surrounded by 35 acres of lush evergreen forest and within walking distance of the Stillaguamish River, the camping alone makes the trip worthwhile.
But Rock the Mountain is more than just a music festival, it’s a community. It’s a place where new and old friends unite over their shared passion for music, art, and the great outdoors. The festival showcases creativity in all forms, featuring live performances, dance, games, prizes, raffles, crafts, mesmerizing light shows, stunning videography, and, of course, some of the best musicians from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. There’s truly something for everyone.
Most importantly, this festival is for the rockers, by the rockers. It’s powered by a passionate team of dedicated fans and musicians who bring their skills and talents together to create something truly special and supported by the generous sponsorship of many local businesses.
We are excited to offer a few new attractions to this year’s festival including early admission for VIPs, a Rockin’ Wheels Contest open to anything with wheels! Also, we will be offering awards for Coolest Compounds and Kick Ass Campsites so bring your A-Game this year we’re handing out awards!
Finally, we at the Whitehorse Musicians Guild want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who makes this festival possible. It’s all of you, at every level, who bring Rock the Mountain to life.
Thank you,
…and Rock on!
